The Universal Starting Point

Every Engagement Begins with a Comprehensive Assessment

Regardless of the service path, crisis intervention, ongoing case management, or long-term support, Coast Health begins every engagement with a thorough, confidential assessment of the individual and their family system.

Start with a Consultation

Services designed to work independently or in combination.

From a single intervention to a full continuum of support spanning years. Whatever the situation, the plan is built around what the client actually needs, not a predetermined package.

Crisis Response

Intervention Services

When a crisis emerges — whether from addiction, mental health deterioration, or a pattern of self-destructive behavior — the window for action is often narrow. Coast Health's intervention professionals design and execute interventions that are thoughtful, strategic, and built around the specific dynamics of each situation.

The team is trained in multiple intervention methodologies and understands that no two families, and no two situations, are the same. The role is to be an ally to the entire family throughout the process, not just the person in crisis.

Pre-intervention planning and family preparation

Professional facilitation using evidence-informed methodologies

Crisis management and de-escalation support

Placement coordination and safe transport through our transport partner

Post-intervention case management and family follow-through

Structured Support

Independent Case Management

Independent case management is the backbone of sustained progress in behavioral health, and it is often the piece that is missing when treatment alone isn't enough. Coast Health case managers work exclusively on behalf of the client and their family, with no affiliation to any treatment facility or referral network. That independence matters. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) emphasizes the importance of coordinated care management in sustained recovery.

Case managers bring clinically informed case direction and decades of real-world experience across the full continuum of behavioral health care. They are available 24/7, serve as the central point of contact for all providers, and stay engaged through every transition. Read more about what a behavioral health case manager actually does.

Daily Support

Companion Services

Stabilization is not the finish line. Our companion services are designed for clients who are ready, or need structured help getting ready, to build a life that works. We match each client with professionals whose backgrounds, expertise, and approach are precisely suited to what that individual actually needs to move forward. Understanding the differences between sober companions, recovery coaches, and case managers helps families choose the right level of support.

For clients requiring more intensive support, our full-time, live-in professional companions provide around-the-clock presence, not as monitors, but as skilled professionals who create structure, reduce risk, and actively support daily functioning.

Life skills development and executive function coaching

Accountability support and daily structure building

Structured accountability across school, work, and social environments

Mental health and wellness companion services

Family-Centered

Family Systems Support & Navigation

Behavioral health challenges do not happen in isolation. They affect the entire family. Parents, spouses, and siblings often carry enormous weight without adequate support, information, or guidance. Research from the National Institutes of Health confirms that family involvement significantly improves treatment outcomes. Coast Health's family-focused services are designed to address that gap directly.

The process starts with understanding what is happening, why it is happening, and what realistic options exist. Families learn to set boundaries that hold, communicate in ways that don't escalate, and make decisions from a place of clarity rather than crisis.

Family consultation and psychoeducation with clinically informed guidance

Communication strategy and boundary-setting support

Navigation of treatment options, levels of care, and provider selection

Ongoing family liaison throughout a client's treatment

Support for siblings and other family members affected by the situation

Court advocacy and legal system navigation

Long-term family wellness planning and follow-up

Our Process

How We Work

Every engagement begins with a comprehensive assessment to understand the unique dynamics of the situation. From there, a plan is built that may draw on one or more services, always with the goal of achieving meaningful, sustainable outcomes.

01

Confidential Consultation

A phone call to understand the situation, determine fit, and discuss what engagement would look like. No obligation. Call (310) 744-1988 or submit an inquiry.

02

Intake Assessment

A structured evaluation of the individual, family system, and existing providers. Coast Health gathers the full picture — history, current functioning, prior treatment, and the dynamics surrounding the situation. Where indicated, formal clinical evaluation is coordinated through Coast's practitioner network.

03

Engagement & Ongoing Case Direction

A written plan is built and executed. Coast manages the case — coordinating providers, maintaining accountability structures, and adapting the approach as the situation evolves. 24/7 availability. Regular structured updates to the family.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

What services does Coast Health Consulting provide?
Coast Health Consulting provides independent behavioral health case management, coaching, and companion services. This includes crisis intervention coordination, ongoing case direction, live-in professional companions, family systems support, and structured accountability. All engagements are designed and overseen by professionals with graduate-level clinical training. When a case requires licensed clinical services — psychiatric evaluation, psychological testing, or therapy — Coast coordinates independent practitioners who operate under their own licensure.
Does Coast Health provide therapy, diagnosis, or treatment?
No. Coast Health provides case management, coaching, and companion services — not therapy, diagnosis, or medical treatment. When a case requires licensed clinical services, Coast assembles and coordinates independent practitioners from a network built over a decade of field work. Those clinicians operate under their own licensure. Coast's role is to manage the case, maintain continuity across providers and stages, and ensure the plan is actually executed over time.
What makes Coast Health different from other behavioral health consultants?
Independence and continuity. Coast has no financial ties to treatment facilities and receives no referral compensation from any provider or program it recommends. Recommendations are driven exclusively by fit. The team stays engaged across every transition — from crisis through stabilization through long-term maintenance — rather than handing off between providers. Most consultants recommend a program and move on. Coast manages the entire trajectory.
How are engagements structured financially?
Coast Health is private pay only and does not bill insurance. Engagements are structured individually based on scope and complexity, discussed during the initial consultation. Coast does not publish standard rates because every situation is different — a crisis intervention has a fundamentally different scope than ongoing case management or live-in companion support. The initial consultation is confidential and carries no obligation.
Do you work with insurance companies?
Coast Health's services are private pay. However, when a client is placed in a treatment program that accepts insurance, Coast can coordinate with insurance companies to verify benefits, advocate for appropriate level-of-care authorizations, and navigate appeals processes on behalf of the family.
What geographic areas do you serve?
Coast Health operates nationally with presence in Los Angeles and Dallas. Case management and consulting services can be provided remotely. In-person services — interventions, companion placements, transport coordination — can be arranged in most major metropolitan areas. The team has established relationships with providers and resources across the United States.
How do I get started?
Call (310) 744-1988. The phone is answered 24/7 by a person. The initial conversation is confidential, carries no obligation, and typically takes 15-20 minutes. The purpose is to understand the situation and determine whether engagement is appropriate. If it is, Coast will outline scope, communication protocols, and engagement structure.
Can you help if the person refuses help?
Yes. Resistance is common and expected in behavioral health. Coast Health has extensive experience with intervention methodologies designed for situations where the need for support is not initially recognized or accepted. The approach is calibrated to the specific situation and the dynamics surrounding it.

Every situation is different.
Let's discuss yours.

Close communication with families throughout every stage is fundamental to the process. Regular updates, clinically informed insights, and strategic guidance are provided around the clock.
